Welcome to the El Dorado R/C Flyers Website!
This club is dedicated to the enjoyment of designing, building and flying model aircraft, as well as the comradeships of fellow fliers. The club has many active fliers and spectators can usually find several planes in the air on the weekends. The primary focus of the EDRCF is sport flying with only a few days of the year taken up with organized contests. By special arrangement we also have access to Bass Lake for float flying.
Important Announcements
****Due to a number of reasons, including your personal safety, the board passed a rule that under no circumstances should members be flying planes on the East side of the fence / behind the pits.****
We have been notified that the livestock on the other side of the road will chase you and trample you if you cross the fence to retrieve a crashed plane. For this reason all flight operations need to be kept to the West of the pit area at all times. All members are expected to enforce the policy and notify the board of any violations.
Though it should never happen, if you need to cross the road/railroad tracks/fence you must notify the farmer to escort you. His number is on the board.
Monthly Meetings
Updated Monthly Meeting Location:
the EAA hanger at the Placerville airport.
From West (Cameron Park, El Dorado Hills):
Take Highway 50 East through downtown Placerville.
Take the Point View Drive (Exit 49) and turn Right at the stop sign.
Go about 50 ft to stop sign.
From East (Camino, Pollock Pines):
Take Highway 50 West.
Before reaching Placerville, Take the Newtown/Point View Drive exit (Exit 49)
At the stop sign, turn Left and go under the freeway to stop sign

Turn Right onto Broadway Go about ¾ mile and Look for a green/white "airport" sign (looks like a plane) on right Turn Left on Airport Road (at "airport" sign)
Take Airport Road to top of hill Turn Left into Placerville Airport.
Park in unpaved parking area on left, near the mail boxes.
There is a walk-thru gate on the right side of the auto gate Walk through and go straight ahead (look out for airplanes!) EAA hangar is the 3rd on the right, a large green Quonset hut
The next monthly meeting is on Wednesday, October 7th at the School District room B-1. Take the Missouri Flat road off of Highway 50, North to the school (2.5 miles). Time 7:30. Directions to meetings (PDF). The next monthly meeting will be held on Oct. 7th at the club field in Folsom starting at 6:30pm. Feel free to bring a plane to fly, show-n-tell items or even items for sale/trade as a mini-warm-up swap meet.
